Hello all
Well, we have got back into the swing of things, somewhat. Work, hockey and everyday life. Although it will never be the same everyday life.
We are spending a bit of time on a major project now. That is that we have been approved by council to have a Relay for Life next summer in Port Elgin. The date is set for June 26, 2009 at the high school track. I am a co chair with Jim's sister, Nancy and Trish Bernard, who is one of Caitlyn's friend's mother. We are all quite excited. There has been a tremendous support from several people already, wanting to help with this event. The three of us are planning on attending a conference on the Relay for Life, at the end of the month. All of this is helping with the healing process, as we continue the fight for Caitlyn.
We will keep you up to date on the progress of this great walk.

I couldn't think of a better way to honour Caitlyn's memory. The event will be a dynamite success. It was such a touching moment to have Caitlyn's banner at our Terry Fox Run at PESCS. Thank you for sharing.

Rona & Jim, just went out to the OWHA website this evening to check tournaments and saw the update about Caitlyn's passing over the summer. As you know from the 8th floor visits at Sick Kids, there are many people who have to deal with this disease that comes in all shapes and forms but Caitlyn's story struck close to home. Our youngest daughter (Madison) is the same age, plays hockey, and also has a sister named Brianna (Traditional Irish spelling). While playing with the PW Rep C team in 2005 she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease which started her down a path of chemo treatments and all the side effects that come with it. She is a healthy 15 year old today and it was ironic when her Bantam C team played Saugeen Shores in the 1st round of the Brampton Easter tournament this year. I was thinking of Caitlyn that day and how great it would have been to have them on the ice together but the hand she was dealt was much more difficult to overcome. Our thoughts are with you and we wish you all the best in keeping Caitlyn's memory alive in order to raise funds so that others will have a better chance of beating the disease that claimed her life.

healing is a lifelong journey but everything you do in honor of your child makes the journey a little softer
Hey Rona.....when you are looking for volunteers, give us a call...we'd love to help in any way! Carolyn, Billy and Maggie
Still checking to see how things are. I still think of Caitlyn at every turn and her picture is always vivid in my mind. I think of her like a warm breeze, only there for a moment but that doesn't change how good she made me feel. All the best to your family, friends and town.
